Pet Portraits in Acrylic with Jerry Madara
Two-day workshop
When: Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, 2022, 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Fellowship Room, Manchester Church of Christ
595 Tolland Turnpike, Manchester CT
Cost: $100/per person
On the first day, all participants will paint from the same photo to focus on the basics:

Using cool and warm colors, neutral grays, and opposite colors

Observing shadows and values
-
Blocking in a value plan, keeping the focus on your intentions for this painting

Preparing and transferring an image to your canvas
On the second day, you'll work from your own photo. The instructor will print your image to fit on an 11 x 14 canvas, so email your image to him a week before the workshop.

Artist Bio:
Jerry Madara is a self-taught painter noted for painting a wide range of impressionist acrylic paintings. He prefers acrylic paints for versatility and quick drying time. “I always look for chances to explore unplanned opportunities when painting; acrylic paint gives me this option for quick changes of direction.” His paintings include portraits of people, animals, cloudscapes, landscapes, and political subjects.
Jerry lives in South Windsor, Connecticut, and has worked as a Multimedia artist/graphic designer. Now retired, Jerry has volunteered his artistic services for various non-profit organizations including Habitat for Humanity, Dances with Wood, Dream Builders, and Future Problem Solving International.
