For beginner to intermediate artists.
Beginning with an informative demonstration, Shauna will show how to begin pastel with watercolor, discussing the issues that every painting requires —composition, shadow and light, texture, and most of all, the joy found in creating a beautiful painting using this purest of all painting mediums – pastel. In the remainder of the workshop, students will complete a 16 x 20 landscape with figure painting in pastel using a watercolor underpainting - working from the same reference used in the demonstration. An effective, positive teacher, Shauna instructs each student based on their individual pace and progress. Whatever your level, you will gain experience and understanding of this popular technique.

Artist Bio:
A full time professional painter for more than 45 years, Shauna is now an Artist and Board Member of Hudson Valley Art Association, as well as a Signature Member of CT Pastel Society, Lyme Art Association, Arts Center East, and New England Watercolor Society.
Shauna has exhibited and won awards in international competitions around the country, including New England and Northeast Watercolor Societies, Renaissance in Pastel, Academic Art Association, and many, many more. A popular demonstrator and teacher, Shauna takes pride in her ability to convey to others how to see and understand the visual world in a way that makes their artistic journey enjoyable and productive. Positive and energetic, her
versatility is showcased in her effective and inspirational instruction in drawing, oil, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor.
